SiTF Award for SafeSmart™

Astoria Solutions receives SiTF Award for Cloud Solutions for SafeSmart™, for its ability to empower international oil and gas enterprises in the safety, security and accountability of their workforce....

Features & Benefits

How SafeSmart™ Works

1. SafeSmart™ sensors are installed at a squeeze point (gate, staircase, gangway, gantry, door, entrance etc.).

2. Subscription services like astorSafe™ and astorTime™ running in the Microsoft Azure Cloud collect data from the SafeSmart™ sensors. astorSafe™ processes these into real-time employee counts, alerts and reports.

3. Users accessing the astorSafe™ application using PCs, Laptops or Smart Devices (PCs, laptops and smart devices are not included).

4. RFID handheld terminals are used for employee verification (spot checking). They communicate with the astorSafe™ service to synchronize employee information of the handheld terminal with astorSafe™. Rapid deployment and ease of maintenance.

SafeSmart™ equipment is designed to be plug-and-play. The sensors are built to be self-contained and portable, which enables hassle-free replacement of the units.

Intelligent Sensor Units

The sensors are equipped with built-in diagnostics and alert intelligence. The sensors can be queried for operational data like environmental conditions, power and data connections to ensure continued proper functioning. Signals can be sent to the sensor units to control access and highlight safety breaches at individual locations.

Robust Infrastructure

The sensors can transmit worker location data to the cloud-based software via a myriad of options. Data communication can take place via mobile broadband, Wi-Fi, Ethernet or Satcom. Should the connections between the sensors and the cloud become interrupted, the sensors will temporarily store the data and send them to the cloud the moment connections are back to normal.
